TaskTavern Privacy Policy

TaskTavern is a parent-managed habit and routine adventure for families. Parents or guardians create the account and control child profiles, quests, tasks, and rewards. We do not sell personal information or show third-party advertising.

1. Who operates TaskTavern

This policy applies to the TaskTavern mobile application and its supporting services. TaskTavern is operated by k8svoodoo LLC, 3301 Richmond Hwy. #1384, Alexandria, VA 22305, United States. Privacy questions, parental-consent requests, and data-access, correction, or deletion requests may be sent to [email protected].

2. Information we collect

• Parent account information: parent or guardian display name, email address, Firebase user identifier, and authentication information. Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication and are not visible to TaskTavern.
• Child profile and gameplay information: a nickname chosen by the parent, selected hero and appearance, difficulty mode, quests, tasks, routines, schedules, rewards, completion history, boss progress, level, XP, health, inventory, equipment, and in-game currency.
• Subscription information: app user identifier, product and entitlement status, purchase status, expiration information, and related subscription events. Apple or Google processes payment details; TaskTavern does not receive full payment-card numbers.
• Notification and device information: with permission, Expo push token, app-generated device identifier, platform, time zone, device role, linked child-profile identifiers, and notification preferences.
• Technical information: service providers may process information such as IP address, device or app identifiers, operating-system details, request logs, and diagnostic information needed to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot their services.

TaskTavern does not ask a child for an email address, birth date, precise location, contacts, photos, microphone access, or advertising identifier. Parents should use a nickname rather than a child’s full legal name.

3. How we use information

• Authenticate parent accounts and keep each family’s information separated.
• Provide profiles, quests, tasks, battles, rewards, inventory, progress, recurring routines, and tutorials.
• Sync progress across authorized devices.
• Deliver requested reminders and parent or child updates.
• Provide, restore, and verify TaskTavern Pro subscriptions.
• Protect the service, prevent abuse, diagnose errors, and meet legal obligations.

4. When information is shared

We disclose information only as needed to operate TaskTavern, comply with law, protect users, or complete a business transfer. Service providers process data under their own terms and privacy commitments:

• Google Firebase and Google Cloud: authentication, database storage, server functions, hosting, and infrastructure.
• Expo: application services and push-notification delivery.
• RevenueCat: subscription entitlement and purchase management.
• Apple and Google Play: app distribution, purchases, subscriptions, and store-account management.

We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use third-party advertising SDKs.

5. Children’s privacy

TaskTavern is designed for children ages 9–12 under adult-managed family use. An adult creates the account; a child does not create a separate login. Before a child profile can be created, the account holder receives this children’s privacy notice and must confirm that they are at least 18. TaskTavern records the notice version and confirmation time.

The parent supplies and controls the child-profile information. Children should use the app with parent or guardian involvement. A parent may withdraw consent or request access, correction, export, or deletion by emailing [email protected] from the parent account email. Withdrawing consent may require deletion of the child profile because that information is needed to provide the child-facing features. If you believe a child’s information was provided without appropriate parental permission, contact us so it can be reviewed and deleted.

6. Choices and controls

• Parents can edit or delete individual child profiles and manage quests, tasks, rewards, and notification preferences in the Parent Portal.
• Push notifications are optional and can be disabled in TaskTavern or the device settings.
• Subscription purchases and cancellation are managed through the applicable Apple or Google store account.
• Parents may withdraw child-profile consent or request access, correction, export, or deletion by emailing [email protected] from the parent account email. We may need to verify account ownership before acting.

7. Retention and deletion

We retain account and gameplay information while the account is active and as reasonably needed to provide TaskTavern, maintain security, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. When an account is deleted or a verified deletion request is completed, associated active account and gameplay records are deleted or de-identified, except information that must be retained for legal, fraud-prevention, security, accounting, or store-transaction purposes. Service-provider backups and security logs may remain for a limited period under provider retention schedules before being overwritten or deleted.

8. Security

TaskTavern uses authenticated access controls, ownership-based database rules, encrypted network connections, and managed service providers to protect information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

9. International processing

TaskTavern and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. Data-protection laws may differ from those in your location.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as TaskTavern changes. The effective date above will be revised when updates are published. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or through another appropriate notice.
